School is Going.... At Full Swing

This semester has definitely been a crazy, hectic, fun one for sure! I have loved every minute of this semester. Sigma Alpha is going great, I get to hang out with all of my sisters and friends, I have a job on campus that is fun and I actually don't mind going to, even if it is early. My classes are going good, some of them are challenging but I am working hard and putting in 110% effort to everything that I am doing. My schedule can be crazy some weeks (actually most weeks) but I manage to survive. My week ends on Thursday, so I get a nice relaxing weekend to hang out with friends, go out, go home or do whatever I feel like doing. I am definitely ready for a break though! I think everyone is... Thanksgiving break is fast approaching which means the semester is coming to an end quickly. I can't wait to see what next semester has in store for me. I will be ready to attack it head on and make the best out of everything that it has in store for me. I Love college!!, to say the least.

Catching Up On Everything!

So, it has definitely been a while since I wrote. I finished my first year of college!!!!!! WOW it went by way too fast. My second semester of college was so much fun. I definitely made friends for life! My big and twin did so much to help me out and one of my best friends, my Sidekick for life, helped too. Although my big and sidekick graduated I will still get to see them and I talk to them regularly! I know that my summer break just started, in May, but I am ready to go back and have a great fun time. My twin in my sorority will make everything so much more interesting, we really have too much fun together sometimes, but it just making memories!
I moved dorms for the fall, I will be living in regents. I will be closer to more of my friends and I will also have my car parked closer even though I could have parked close anyways. For school I am taking 17 hours and really starting to get into the core of my degree. I am starting to learn more and more about actually teaching and what it is going to take and I am thrilled. I applied for admissions to teacher ed services to start taking teaching classes and I am still waiting to hear if I was accepted to the program.
So far this summer I have watched enough netflix to last me the rest of my life but its so boring staying home all the time. I'm looking for a job here and down at school to save up for an apartment, but so far no luck. I'm still trying though, that's all I can do! I did get pigs though, and cows but, I'm more excited about the pigs. They are soo cute and I can't wait to have babies out of them. This is definitely a learning experience for me because I haven't dealt with swine or cattle and my dad is teaching me so much about them that I will be able to use in the future. I am going to take classes but they don't teach real life experience that you can learn hands on in a farm setting.
I hope to have fun this summer and enjoy my friends and family. Summer is for relaxing and I am for sure getting my fill.... I will be plenty ready when I go back! Hope to be back soon and update more about what is going on with my life and more while I am in school.

My Career Path

I have chosen to attend college in pursuance of a degree in Agricultural Education. Going through high school and talking  with my advisors I realized more and more that I wanted to be a part of something so great. I have always wanted to be a teacher, but growing up the subjects have varied from kindergarden to middle school science, and now to Agriculture. I realize how luck I am to have been a part of such a great organization and how much my advisors really, truely helped me. In a way, my pursuing a degree in Agriculture is sort of a thanks, but it is also my true passion, to teach others about where their clothes, food, and many parts of the everyday things in their life come from.
Thank you to My ag teachers and advisors... I would have never chosen this path if you had not shown me how awesome it is!

FFA promotes respect

Today's challenge is respect! Through out high school, while I was a member of the FFA, I learned a lot about respect: for myself, my advisors,my family & parents,  my fellow classmates, fellow FFA members, my competitors, and most importantly farmers and Agriculture. I can't even begin to describe how awesome the FFA is and how much it has changed me, taught me fantastic qualities, and prepared me for so much more than I ever dreamed of. I am so privileged to have been blessed by God and the FFA. :)

Service Through the FFA

The National FFA promotes Service in so many aspects, they hold the National Day of Service and encourage many chapters to hold their own day of service, and suggest volunteer time/ community service be a regular part of the chapters Program of Activities. I know that my chapter and several in my region hold different community service events for the members, and generally they enjoy them. Service is a huge part of FFA.

One Semester Down... On to the rest!!

I know this is a little late but I finished my first semester at Murray State on December 9th. I had a lot of fun especially the last couple of weeks. It definately was different and I've learned alot about people. Some days were rough but I survived. I had all As and Bs. I am very pleased with my grades for the semester.
I also was actived into Sigma Alpha. My Big is Kaitlan Dinges and my twin is Chris Porter. I also have a niece Jen Axton. They are so mych fun to be around. I have spent a lot of time hanging out with them and  my big's roommate! I love all of the sisters and have a blast everytime Im around them.
I am moving rooms but I haven't gotten my new roommate yet. I am still waiting. I moved into my new room before I left. It was weird having the room all to my self. I am excited to be at home but I'm ready to go back and have alot more fun with my Murray family! Happy New Years... Its time to make the most of 2012!!!!

    Rushing Sigma Alpha

Last week I rushed Sigma Alpha and I got a bid Sunday Night!!! I am now a membership candidate for Sigma Alpha for 7-9 weeks. I really love the sisters, they are soo much fun. I look forward to hanging out with them. I will be activated in December, and I will get my big then too. I can't say how excited I am!!!! My class meets Tuesday nights for our membership candidate class and then on different days of the week we have bull buddy (sisterhoods) so that we can get to know all the sisters better.

I've been in school for almost a month and a half, next week we have fall break so I will be coming home. I am going to go to the Homecoming football game at North. I hope to see old friends and teachers. I really like school and all of my classes are going well.

    Slowly but Surely adjusting

I went home over the week end and spent some time with my family. It was kind of weird being in my room with nothing that I am used to in there. My classes are going good, and I like all of my professors so far. Its definitely different being away from home but I like it. I think that I will be going home again in two weeks for Labor Day weekend, maybe this time I won't feel like I moved everything out and then back into my dorm just for the weekend.

    Settled in & Starting Classes

On Wednesday the 10th, I moved in to Springer. I am all settled in, Rush was fun but in the end I decided that it wasn't for me (at least this semester getting used to everything and taking 17 hrs). So far everything has been good. I was nervous (I was really homesick and a total wreck) when I first moved in and the first week during rush, but now I am okay. I am home this weekend. I go back Sunday afternoon. All my classes are going good, and I hope that they don't get to overwhelming!! I really like college so far. This is a good adventure for me!!!

    Im still meeting more people.

Gone Fishin.... and other adventures at LBL

We went camping while we were down at Murray. We went to Land Between the Lakes (LBL). I had a lot of fun. We went to this really good restraunt called Catfish Kitchen. We made reservations just in case and when we got there food was already on the table. There were hushpuppies, white beans, and coleslaw. The waitress got our drinks and what we ordered out in such little time. The were super fast and had really good fresh fish. When we got done we took old hushpuppies out to the back and fed the fish. That was really cool. Not only was the food good but the building was interesting.

The old man sitting there... he scared me when we walked in I thought he was real.

Interesting antiques on the ceiling. There were also alot of different mounts.

The turtle that came while we were feeding the fish.

We also went to an elk and bison prairie. We drove around and seen all the bison and elk one time through but we wanted to go around again so the second time round was even more fun. This was really inexpensive and it was cool seeing all the bison up close and seeing a elk bull.
A large herd of bison eating the first time we went around... the second time they were crossing the road and standing right in the middle just taking their time.

A bison baby licking the car in front of us.

Bison mommas and babies... these ones already crossed the road

An elk bull. This is the main reason we went around again. The first time we went through we saw several cows and young bulls, seeing this one with big antlers was really cool and exciting.

    School is Getting Closer

On Tuesday the 14th I went and got all of my classes scheduled. School is getting closer and I am excited. I am ready to start in the Fall. I get to move in on August the 10th. I get to go through sorority recruitment... I hope I meet lots of friends I will keep for a long time. On the 14th of August I find out if I get to join a sorority. The 13th - 15th is Great Beginnings for the Freshman where I get to meet new people and get familiar with the campus. With each passing day school is beginning to get closer. I am super excited to be leaving for college, but there are always the nerves until I finally get settled in and familiar with everything. This is going to be such a great experience, I can't wait!!

    Graduation!!!!! Finally

Saturday, June 4th was my graduation. It was very hot outside but well worth the wait (and suffering of the heat). I am super excited to be graduated, and I am definately ready to start a new chapter in my life. Thank you to everyone at North that I had as a Teacher/ FFA Advisor, and most definately to all of my friends and family who kept faith and helped me through all the difficult times and shared all of the great times. I am truly going to miss all of my friends that I have made in the past 4 years.

    School Money

Here lately I have been getting a lot of scholarships from Murray. I am very thankful that ALL of my school for the first year is paid for. I have gotten  a $500 and a $1000 scholarship in the past couple of weeks. I'm glad that I have the privilage of using these scholarships. It definately makes life a lot easier now that its getting closer to school..

    2011 Prom

Last night was the most fun I've had in a long time. Seeing all of my friends dressed up and looking all pretty. Everyone looked so gorgeous, and all the guys looked handsome. Thanks to everyone who was there and made the prom sooo much fun.
